How to get a card:
City of Rupert residents will need to bring in a city bill and photo identification. There will be no additional charge for city residents because your library is supported through your property taxes. Rural residents will need to bring in photo identification. There will be a fee assessed of $30.00 +tax, per year, per household. Six-month cards may also be purchased for $15.00 +tax.
Computer/Internet usage:
All patrons who desire to use the computers must sign a seperate agreement. This service is included with the library card, however if you do not have a library card and live outside the city limits, a computer/internet usage card may be purchased for $15.00 +tax, per year, per person.
Checkout Policy
Books: 3 weeks, late fine $0.25/day
Books on Tape: 3 weeks, late fine $1/day
Videos/DVD's: 3 days/limit 3 videos or 2 DVD's, late fine $1/day
Music CD's: 7 days/limit 4, late fine $1/day
Encyclopedias: 7 days, late fine $0.25/day
Note: each fine assessed is per item or book. Items may be renewed by phone one time per item unless there is a hold on that item.
Book drops are located by the north door.
Damaged or Lost Items:
Charges will be assessed according to the damage. Excessive damage or loss will be charged the new book replacement price plus handling fee of $3 for paperbacks and $5 for all other items.
Suspended Service:
Service will be suspended for patrons with overdue books or with fines over $10.
Collection:
After three months of billing by the library, past due accounts will be turned over to the Credit Bureau and a $10 service fee will be added.
